One & Only Palmilla, Los Cabos

wp376735ff_06AN EXCLUSIVE HIDEAWAY FOR FILM STARS AND JET SETTERS, THIS LAVISH MEXICO RESORT IS A HAVEN OF REFINED TRANQUILITY WITH A PLAYFUL TWIST OF ENERGY AND INNOVATION

One&Only Palmilla is a verdant oasis at the tip of the Baja Peninsula where mountain and desert greet the Sea. The idyllic setting of Old Mexico with its red-tiled roofs, whitewashed walls, and spectacular fountains is quietly nestled amidst swaying palms and tropical blooms that kiss the air with their fragrance amongst meandering paths to the seashore.

One of the original escapes for the rich and famous since the 1950’s, One&Only Palmilla’s primary characteristic is its legacy, and for many, ‘the sense of coming home’ comments Peter Bowling.

Bowling is the Managing Director of One&Only Palmilla. He comes to the area with 26 years of experience in international luxury services. His exquisite skills have been honed in England, Barbados, Mustique and Antigua. In Los Cabos, he spent five years with Capella prior to arriving at One&Only in 2012.

Upon taking the helm at One&Only Palmilla, Bowling created a new department of Guest Experiences to enhance guest fulfillment. He notes Palmilla is ‘not just so cookie cutter that you check in and checkout’, adding, ‘here, is whatever you want when you want it.” It is where wishes are indulged with exquisite perfection and dreams are fulfilled.

Guests can now hop on a golf cart shuttle to get to different beaches and activities; be serenaded in secluded sandy coves or have private butlers work overtime satisfying every need. There is a full selection of aquatic options including a world-class surf instructor from Australia’s Tropic Surf. Art and guest activities include a guided Bio Tour of the property’s flora ending with cooking classes with master chefs, and small group art, wine, and tequila classes led by professionals.

Since taking on Palmilla ten years ago, Ketzner International has invested over 135 million dollars in this 55-acre resort, including the enhancement of 24 guest rooms with lagoon pools. Future projects include an 18-foot wide wooden promenade that will cantilever over the cliff and a salon by Beverly Hills’ celebrity hairstylists Jonathan Antin and Amanda George.
