elena Bonham Carter earned a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Princess Margaret in the Netflix series, The Crown. The “Corset Queen” has grown into her role, highlighting her authentic family
ties to the British Royal Family. She is the great-granddaughter of HH Asquith, and her uncle, Lord Mark Bonham Carter, once dated Princess Margaret. In her early years she was best known for playing English heroines in the films: Lady Jane, Hamlet, Howard's End, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and A Room with A View among others.
She was twice Oscar-nominated: as lead in The Wings of the Dove, and best supporting actress in The King’s Speech. She is well- known as Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter franchise and furthered her mainstream success in Alice in Wonderland, Alice through the Looking Glass and 2018s Ocean’s Eight.
In addition to The Crown, her future includes a role in the movie Enola Holmes due to be released in 2020. Bonham Carter continues to be a consummate actress bringing every portrayal from the Red Queen to Princess Margaret to life.
