Adele, full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, was born in London’s Tottenham. At under 30 years old she accomplished more than many other singer-songwriters of a much grander
age. As of 2020, Adele’s net worth was estimated at $190 million dollars, making her one of the wealthiest female singers in modern time.
Adele has received abundant awards and accolades. She is the recipient of nine Brit Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, 15 Grammy Awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, and two Ivor Novello Awards for Songwriter of the Year.
Adele’s comeback album, 25, won five Grammys. She became the first person in Grammy history to win the top three awards twice, following her wins for her first album, 21, in 2012. In 2013, "Skyfall," the theme song for the 007 movie of the same name, won a Golden Globe for best original song in a motion picture.
Adele’s music has entered the hearts and souls of people around the world. She is Ella Fitzgerald meets The Spice Girls, with a style all her own. Her well-thought out albums and accompanying tour dates have made her one of the most beloved musicians this millennium. Music lovers around the world are keenly looking forward to the album to follow 25, scheduled to be released in September of this year.
“I taught myself how to sing by listening to Ella Fitzgerald for acrobatics and scales, Etta James for passion and
